On 27 December 2025, the #1000forHer Food Drive made its first stop in Ogun State, marking our inaugural community outreach and intervention in the state. The visit was filled with moments of connection, gratitude, and quiet resilience that deeply reflected the spirit of the communities we served.

This outreach took place in Ilefon Village, where 50 women received food boxes made possible through the generosity of a private donor. Each box contained essential food items carefully put together to support families during the Christmas season: a 5kg bag of rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, seasoning, and salt. For many households, these items meant fewer worries about the next meal and more room to focus on what truly matters.

The #1000forHer Food Drive was created to respond to a simple but pressing reality: the festive season is often hardest for households and families in underserved communities. While December is marked by celebration for many, it can also highlight deep inequalities for those navigating rising food costs and limited income. Through this initiative, we seek to ensure that no woman is left carrying the weight of the season alone.

Beyond the distribution of food, the outreach in Ogun State was about presence. We listened to stories, shared laughter, and were reminded that impact does not always need to be loud or large-scale to be meaningful. Sometimes, it is found in a quiet “thank you,” a relieved smile, or the reassurance that someone sees you. Ogun State marks the first of three states for the 2025 edition of the #1000forHer Food Drive. As we continue this journey across communities, our commitment remains the same: to show up with compassion, intention and respect for the women and families we serve.

We are deeply grateful to our donor, volunteers and community partners who made this outreach possible. Together, we are proving that collective action can make a real difference.
