On May 31, 2025, the SDGforHer team hosted a successful clothes drive in Ajiran community, reaching and supporting 123 women through its HerGoodwill Drive initiative. The outreach focused on fashion circularity and reducing textile waste, while also meeting a critical need for clothing and basic household items among underserved women.
Each woman in attendance had the opportunity to browse and select clothes and items that suited her needs. These items were then neatly packaged for them to take home, fostering dignity, choice and a sense of community support.

The HerGoodwill Drive is part of SDGforHer’s broader mission to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 on responsible consumption and production, and SDG 5 on gender equality. By encouraging reuse and redistribution of fashion items, the initiative not only reduces waste but also empowers women by addressing a basic but often overlooked need clothing.

This effort marks another step in SDGforHer’s commitment to promoting circular economy practices and social impact. The team is grateful to all volunteers and donors who made the Ajiran clothes drive possible and looks forward to replicating this initiative in more communities across Nigeria.

Together, we can reduce waste, empower women, and build more sustainable communities one clothes drive at a time.
