SDGforHer Partners with Paystack to Champion the 1000forHer Food Drive Across Lagos

At the Sustainable Development Goals for Her Initiative, we are committed to empowering women and advocating for their well-being in undeserved communities across Nigeria. This year, we proudly launched the 1000forHer Campaign, as part of our annual Goodwill Food Drive Program. Our goal was to distribute 1000 boxes of non-perishable food items to 1000 women in need, helping to alleviate food insecurity and support families, especially during the festive season.

On December 21, 2024, we kicked off this impactful campaign with an outreach event in Oniru, marking the first of two locations for the 1000forHer drive. The event saw an incredible turnout, with over 500 women attending and receiving food boxes filled with essential items. Each box contained a 5kg bag of rice, cooking oil, seasoning cubes, salt, spaghetti, and tomato puree — a much-needed source of nourishment for families during this time of year.

Our goal for the Oniru outreach was to distribute 500 food boxes to women in the community, and we are thrilled to report that the event was a resounding success. The positive energy and gratitude shared by the women and families who benefited from the initiative were truly heartwarming. The 1000forHer campaign is aimed at tackling the increasing food insecurity and hunger in Lagos, particularly during the festive season when many face heightened financial strain. Through this initiative, we hope to bring joy and much-needed relief to over 1000 families across the city.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Paystack for their unwavering commitment and sponsorship of this event in Oniru. Their support has made a real difference in the lives of so many women and families, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership. We are also grateful to all our other sponsors that provided technical support to ensure the program was a success. As we look ahead to our second #1000forHer outreach in Marsha, Surulere, we are excited to continue this important work and make a lasting impact on the lives of women across Lagos. Together, we can build a future where no woman is left behind, and no family has to go hungry.
